How to Rotate PDF Pages That Scanned Sideways or Upside Down

Anyone who has scanned a document on a shared office printer knows this problem: half the pages come out upside down, or the whole document is sideways because someone fed the paper in the wrong orientation. Rotating a PDF fixes this, and you don't need to rescan anything.
Why this happens so often
Scanners and phone scanning apps determine page orientation based on how the paper was fed or how the phone was held β they don't actually "read" which way is up on the page. Multi-page scans from an automatic document feeder are especially prone to this, since a single sheet fed slightly wrong can throw off the orientation for that page while the rest of the document scans fine.
Step 1: Identify which pages need rotating
Open your PDF first and note which pages are affected β sometimes it's the whole document, sometimes it's just one or two pages that got fed sideways. Most rotate tools let you rotate individual pages differently, so you don't have to apply the same rotation to a document where only page 4 is upside down.
Step 2: Rotate in your browser
At PDFConverter24's Rotate PDF tool, upload your file. You'll typically see a thumbnail of each page with rotate-left and rotate-right controls β click through and fix each page that needs it, checking the thumbnail preview as you go rather than guessing.
Step 3: Download and confirm
Once you've rotated the necessary pages, download the file and open it in a PDF reader (not just the tool's preview) to confirm every page displays correctly. Occasionally a page will look right in a small thumbnail but the rotation direction is actually reversed β worth a final check before you send the file anywhere.
A note on scanning going forward
If this is a recurring problem with a particular scanner or app, it's worth checking its orientation settings once rather than rotating pages every single time you scan something. But for a one-off fix on a document you already have, rotating after the fact is faster than rescanning.
The bottom line
A sideways or upside-down PDF page is one of the most annoying-but-trivial-to-fix document problems out there. Rotating takes seconds per page and means you never have to ask someone to rescan a document just because page 6 came out upside down.
